Hundreds of local primary school students have designed Christmas cards for Member for Morwell Russell Northe, as part of an annual competition.
Mr Northe said that each Christmas season he asked local primary schools to be involved in the “Design my Christmas Card” competition. Four winners were selected from the field of entries and the students’ designs printed on the front of Christmas cards sent by Mr Northe to colleagues, stakeholders and friends.
“I was extremely impressed with the response from our local schools, with hundreds of entries received,” Mr Northe said.
“Thank you to everyone who took part. Each student did a fantastic job, so it was very difficult choosing the winners!” Mr Northe said I thank Andrea Ramsay from Traralgon and District Arts Society for her assistance in judging the students work.
The winners for 2015 are Caitlin Watt from Newborough Primary School, Ella Rowley from Kosciuszko Street Primary School, Adam Wilbraham from St Michaels Primary School and Lucas Hobbs from Churchill North Primary School.
“The creative skills of the winning students have been acknowledged with their name included on each card,” Mr Northe said.
“I am pleased that local students have taken the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic and creative skills as part of this competition.”
