Member for Morwell Russell Northe recently asked questions in State Parliament of Minister for Sport and Recreation, John Eren in relation to the incomplete Traralgon West Sporting Pavilion.
Mr Northe called upon the Minister to provide the user groups of the Traralgon West complex with an update and whether the State Government will assist in providing funding and support to help complete the project.
“Stage 1 of the complex was completed in 2011, but the upstairs component of the building still sits idle, and obviously this means it can’t be utilised to its capacity by multiple user groups of the precinct” Mr Northe said.
It is simply unacceptable that after many years the main pavilion is still not complete,” said Mr Northe
With multiple user groups including umpiring, running, rugby, cricket, football, all ability groups as well as school groups amongst others utilising this facility all year round, it really is dependent on the State Government and Council to work together and find a solution and the necessary funding to finally complete this project.
“The lift and stairwell to access the upstairs area of the building were completed in January 2017 which is a start but what this facility really needs is work to be undertaken urgently so that full use of this complex can be achieved as soon as possible,” said Mr Northe
