Hansard is the official record of parliamentary proceedings, including all speeches. Though not a verbatim transcript, it is regarded as a highly accurate report. A proof or draft version of the day’s parliamentary proceedings (Daily Hansard) is available via the internet four hours after the house adjourns for the day.
Weekly Hansard, a collation of the revised dailies for the week, is available on the internet three working days after the end of the sitting week and in hard copy approximately one week afterwards. It is corrected for redundancies, grammatical errors, slips of the tongue and incorrect facts.
In addition to being a record of parliamentary proceedings, Hansard is also a record of the proceedings of parliamentary committees.
