Member for Morwell Russell Northe is encouraging Latrobe Valley shooting sports clubs to apply for the latest grants round of the Shooting Sports Facilities Program.
“Shooting involves a high level of proficiency and it is important that our rural communities have good facilities to develop skills and to support the safe and responsible use of firearms,” Mr Northe said.
“Grants from the Shooting Sports Facilities Program are a great way for sporting clubs to improve their clubrooms and rifle ranges.”
Mr Northe said grants of up to $100,000 were available for a number of categories:
• Upgrades to ageing clubrooms
• New facilities for the female participants • Improve access for people living with disabilities
• Development of new rifle ranges, target systems and shooting platforms
“With these grants, clubs will hopefully increase participation and be able to better accommodate members of all abilities,” Mr Northe said.
“The Victorian Nationals proudly support our shooting sports clubs, and we recognise the great benefits that are delivered to communities when we invest in local sporting and community organisations. For more details or to apply online, visit www.sport.vic.gov.au
